Rehabilitation (Rehab) Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position  
Location: Asheville, NC 
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 3x12s Days 
Pay: $1821.60/week 
Completion Bonus: Up to $4950 total. (You will receive $1650 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)

Job Description:  

We are seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Rehabilitation (Rehab) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our inpatient team. This specialized role is critical in helping patients who have experienced disabling injuries or illnesses—such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, or major joint replacement—regain independence and functional ability. The Rehab RN is responsible for managing complex medical needs while acting as a core coordinator for the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, focusing on holistic recovery and patient education toward a successful transition home.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex physical, cognitive, and psychosocial deficits, focusing on managing chronic conditions, medication, and wound care.
• Actively participate in the patient's daily therapy program, reinforcing techniques taught by Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech Language Pathology (SLP).
• Lead the daily coordination of the interdisciplinary team, communicating patient progress, setbacks, and goals during team conferences and rounds.
• Provide extensive education to patients and families on self-care, medication regimens, bowel/bladder management, transfer techniques, and adaptive equipment use to prepare them for discharge.
• Work proactively with Case Management to identify and coordinate necessary resources for a safe and timely discharge home or to a lower level of care.
• Manage specialized rehabilitation devices and protocols, including tube feeding, tracheostomy care (if applicable), complex skin integrity management, and pain control.

Qualifications:  

• Active RN license in North Carolina.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in acute rehabilitation (inpatient), skilled nursing facility (SNF), or medical-surgical nursing.
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
