Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) Travel Position

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3×12 Days (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
Pay: $1,848.60/week (plus $2,000 completion bonus per contract, up to $6,000 after three contracts)

Position Summary

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced and motivated Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week seasonal travel assignment in Denver, Colorado.

The OR RN will assist in a variety of elective surgical procedures in a collaborative, high-functioning team environment. This position focuses on patient safety, surgical efficiency, and quality outcomes while maintaining sterile technique and supporting the surgical team through all perioperative phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and functioning.
• Serve as a circulator and/or scrub nurse during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and anticipating surgeon needs.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition during surgery.
• Verify surgical procedures, patient identity, and consent in accordance with facility safety policies.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to provide safe and efficient perioperative care.
• Manage documentation of patient care and procedural activities within Meditech EMR.
• Handle orthopedic, spine, cardiovascular, plastic, gynecologic, urologic, and robotic procedures.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Support team members in maintaining flow and efficiency in a busy 23-room OR suite.
• Participate in pre- and post-operative patient education when applicable.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room experience (required).
• Proficiency in Ortho/Spine and Cardiovascular (CV) procedures preferred.
• Experience with Meditech EMR (preferred).
• Required Certifications (AHA):
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Preferred Certifications: CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to varying case types and team dynamics.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed).
• Recent tuberculosis (TB) test required.
