Pay: $2,255.40/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Denver, CO. This Level III NICU provides specialized care for critically ill and premature newborns, supporting their growth and development through expert clinical practice and multidisciplinary teamwork.

The ideal candidate will be a kind-hearted, self-motivated clinician who thrives in a collaborative environment. NICU nurses are active participants in daily care planning and are encouraged to advocate strongly for their patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized, high-quality nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates requiring advanced monitoring and life support.
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for each newborn in collaboration with neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform and assist with advanced neonatal procedures including umbilical arterial/venous catheter (UAC/UVC) insertion and intubation.
  • Operate and monitor advanced neonatal equipment such as Phillips monitors, Giraffe isolettes, and Hamilton ventilators.
  • Administer medications, fluids, and blood products safely, and evaluate responses to interventions.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation in Meditech EMR according to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support and educate families, offering guidance on neonatal care, lactation, and discharge preparation.
  • Monitor patients closely with assigned ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1, based on acuity and condition.
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and unit-specific protocols at all times.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Colorado or a compact state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of Level III NICU experience (required).
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Experience with Phillips monitors, Giraffe isolettes, and Hamilton ventilators preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and emotional resilience.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a focus on family-centered care.
  • Experience with lactation support or transition nursing preferred.
