Pay: $2,451.60/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Albany, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cardiac, neuro, thoracic, orthopedic, and vascular surgical procedures. The OR RN will provide safe, high-quality perioperative care to patients throughout all phases of surgery. This position may include on-call responsibilities and requires flexibility, critical thinking, and excellent teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the operating room for complex surgical procedures, including cardiac, neuro, thoracic, orthopedic, and vascular cases.
  • Assist surgeons during operations by anticipating needs, handling instruments, and ensuring sterile technique is maintained at all times.
  • Monitor patients’ status during procedures, assess responses to anesthesia, and report any changes promptly.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedures performed, and equipment used.
  • Ensure all surgical equipment and supplies are properly prepared, sterilized, and maintained.
  • Participate in call rotations as required, responding to emergency surgical needs when necessary.
  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and facility protocols.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in New York or a compact state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience, including cardiac, neuro, thoracic, orthopedic, and vascular cases.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (additional facility-required certifications as applicable).
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and operating room safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call rotations as needed.
