Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 3x12s Nights
Pay: $2563.20/week  
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)

Job Description:  

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Rapid Response Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a critical resource for emergent patient care outside of the Intensive Care Unit. The RRT RN is responsible for responding immediately to hospital-wide alerts for patients experiencing acute clinical deterioration. This role requires the highest level of clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and the ability to quickly assess, stabilize, and manage critically ill patients across all general units. The ideal candidate is a calm, decisive leader who excels at communication and teamwork under high-stress conditions.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Respond immediately to Rapid Response calls and other hospital-wide emergencies (e.g., Code Blue, Stroke Alerts).
  • Conduct rapid, comprehensive assessments of patients exhibiting signs of acute clinical decline.
  • Implement immediate life-saving interventions, including advanced airway management, resuscitation measures, and stabilization protocols, before a physician arrives.
  • Initiate and manage complex medications and titration drips as authorized by protocol.
  • Collaborate with the primary care team to determine the appropriate disposition of the patient (e.g., transfer to ICU, continued monitoring).
  • Provide clinical mentorship and education to floor staff on early recognition of patient deterioration.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes during the event.

Qualifications:  

  • Active RN license in Texas.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent, high-acuity critical care experience (ICU, ED, or previous RRT experience is mandatory).
  • Strong EKG interpretation skills and proficiency with ventilators and invasive monitoring.
  • COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
