Pay: $1,573.20/week (plus $1,900 completion bonus per contract, up to $5,700 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated LPN / LVN for a 13-week travel assignment in a correctional facility in Lexington, VA. The LPN / LVN will provide safe and effective nursing care to an incarcerated population, working closely with the healthcare team to address both urgent and routine medical needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting, following facility protocols and security procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and immunizations as required.
- Monitor patients’ health status and report changes promptly to supervising RN or provider.
- Perform routine assessments, collect specimens, and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
- Promote patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment compliance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and quality care.
Qualifications
- Active LPN or LVN license in Virginia or a compact state.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of recent clinical nursing experience; correctional healthcare experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification (additional facility-required certifications as applicable).
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test.
- Strong assessment and communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism in a secure environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a correctional healthcare setting.
