Pay: $2383.20/week
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide expert, rapid care to infants, children, and adolescents experiencing urgent and critical illnesses or injuries. The Peds ED RN is responsible for quickly assessing, triaging, and treating pediatric patients with diverse medical and trauma needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, demonstrates strong critical thinking specifically in pediatric assessment, and is adept at communicating effectively with both children and worried parents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid, age-appropriate patient assessments and prioritize care based on the urgency of the child’s condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions specific to pediatric protocols.
- Monitor and document patient conditions, recognizing subtle changes in a child's status.
- Initiate and manage PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) protocols during resuscitation and stabilization efforts.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, surgeons, and child life specialists to deliver timely and comprehensive care.
- Provide calming, therapeutic communication to children and supportive, clear education to parents/guardians.
- Adhere to all emergency protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New York.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Pediatric Emergency Department or Pediatric Critical Care (PICU) nursing experience.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is a plus.
- COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
