MRI Technologist (Radiology or Cardiology) - Travel Position  
Location: Knoxville, TN 
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 3x12s Days
Pay: $2174/week  
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)

Job Description:  

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused MRI Technologist to perform complex magnetic resonance imaging procedures for both diagnostic Radiology and specialized Cardiology applications. This role is responsible for operating MRI equipment, ensuring patient safety in the high-magnet environment, and producing high-quality images for physician interpretation. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in positioning, sequence selection, and patient monitoring, with specialized experience in cardiac gating and protocols being a significant advantage. This position requires precision, technical expertise, and excellent patient communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Perform a wide range of MRI procedures, including neurological, musculoskeletal, abdominal, and vascular studies.
• Execute specialized cardiac MRI protocols, including functional and viability studies, utilizing advanced gating techniques.
• Thoroughly screen all patients and personnel for metallic objects and contraindications to ensure a safe magnetic environment (Zone IV).
• Prepare and administer intravenous contrast agents (gadolinium) under the supervision of a physician or delegating RN, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Accurately position patients and select appropriate imaging sequences to optimize image quality.
• Maintain all quality control standards and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients, preparing them for the procedure and managing anxiety.

Qualifications:  

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
• Advanced Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) is highly preferred.
• Active state license/certification as required by Tennessee
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1-2  years of recent experience as an MRI Technologist.
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
