Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in New Braunfels, TX on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide immediate, high-quality care to patients with urgent, emergent, and life-threatening conditions. The ideal candidate has solid emergency nursing experience, thrives in high-acuity, fast-paced environments, and is committed to delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid assessment, triage, and intervention for patients with emergent and critical conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to stabilize and care for patients.
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses to treatment.
  • Assist in trauma care, resuscitation efforts, and emergency procedures as needed.
  • Provide education to patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes promptly and accurately in the medical record.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based emergency care practices.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in Texas (or compact eligibility).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent ED nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); PALS and TNCC preferred.
  • Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills under pressure.
  • Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
