Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Lander, WY on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population recovering from illness, injury, or surgical procedures. The ideal candidate has strong Med Surg experience, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Med Surg unit.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments, intervening promptly as needed.
  • Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress in the medical record.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in Wyoming (or compact eligibility).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Med Surg nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
