We have opportunities across a variety of specialties and care settings, including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Progressive Care, Emergency Department, Critical Care, Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, and other acute care units.
Position Summary
The Travel Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care and care coordination for patients within an assigned healthcare setting. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
- Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring intervention
- Document patient care accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Prioritize and manage multiple patient assignments while maintaining quality care standards
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient condition
- Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and regulatory requirements
- Advocate for patients while ensuring compassionate, culturally competent care
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, shift reports, and care planning meetings
- Operate and monitor medical equipment as required by the assigned unit
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Support organizational quality initiatives and patient satisfaction goals
Qualifications
Required
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent clinical experience within specialty area
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and workflows
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
Preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Specialty certifications relevant to assigned unit
- ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, or other specialty credentials as applicable
- Experience with major EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout assigned shifts
- Ability to lift and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Must be capable of performing duties in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations
Must Have Skills
- Travel Nurses must be independent and confident with vaginal exam, internal monitor placement, high risk laboring/delivery patients and antepartum patients.
- We circulate and recover our own C-Section patients,, and our nurses float to MB and take assignments and to other units as needed.
- RNs will be expected to titrate drips - Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin
- 2:1 ratio normal laboring moms; 1:1 high risk labors, 4:1 couplet care: 2:1-4:1 Antepartum depending on acuity

Required Certifications
- Nevada RN license
- ACLS (AHA)
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
- BLS (AHA)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Shift Notes
- Weekend Requirements - Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements- As needed
- Call or standby requirement - No
- Floating Requirements - Yes to postpartum as needed
- Scrub Color/Dress code- Navy Blue Scrubs/ We also have light blue OR scrubs for nurse use
