Director of Franchise Development

A Franchise Development Director drives company growth by recruiting, vetting, and onboarding new franchisees to expand the brand's footprint. You manage the full sales lifecycle, from lead generation to signing franchise agreements to achieve deal goals. Key responsibilities include responding to prospect and broker inquiries in a timely manner, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with marketing and legal teams.

Compensation: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Sales: Identify, cultivate, and qualify prospective franchisees through digital channels, brokers, referrals, and prospecting.
  • Pipeline Management: Guide candidates through the discovery process, validation calls, and Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) reviews through to franchise award.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the development and execution of expansion strategies in line with company goals, including strategic territory mapping/management.
  • Relationship Management: Build rapport with prospects, brokers, and consultants to close deals. A charismatic storyteller able to truly connect with many types of people.
  • Onboarding & Compliance: Ensure new franchisees meet financial/operational standards and are properly introduced to the support team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in franchise development with a proven track record of success.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, closing, and communication skills, with proficiency in CRM tools like HubSpot or FranConnect.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of franchise legal requirements and unit economics.
  • Attributes: A polished, reputable self-starter, capable of working independently with a sense of urgency while managing a high-volume of prospects. Process-oriented with excellent follow-through. Respect, diplomacy and tact when working with candidates, teammates, and partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Occasional travel required (up to 20%).
