Purpose/Description

The housekeeper will provide routine custodial cleaning and upkeep of the Juvenile Detention Facility daily. The cleaning of restrooms, pods, and furniture, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming of the floors and daily collection of trash including the cleaning of the grounds and parking lot.

 

 

 

Education and Experience

 
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Short-term on-the-job training

 

 

 

Major Duties, Tasks & Knowledge

Required Tasks

  • Custodial Cleaning of the facility.
  • Specific custodial activities to maintain the cleanliness of designated areas for residents,staff and visitors.
  • Duties include sweeping, scrubbing, buffing, and waxing floors.
  • Cleaning rest rooms, collecting trash, cleaning windows, glass, mirrors, dusting, polishing and shampooing carpets.
  • Cleaning and manicuring of the grounds and parking lot.
  • The general upkeep and maintenance of the facility.

 

 

Required Knowledge

  • Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of documenting simple information in various forms and able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Some knowledge of procedures and practices in correctional or residential security.
  • Production and Processing -Knowledge of Laundry methods and treatment and able to perform physical labor. Knowledge of procedures and practices in correctional or residential settings.
