Days & Hours Needed:

  • Tuesday & Thursday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

  • Monday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

  • Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Spanish-speaking Medical Assistant for a PRN assignment at a primary care office. This position requires an individual who is skilled in basic medical assistant duties and has the ability to perform tasks with a high degree of independence and accuracy. Responsibilities:

  • Triage: Take patient blood pressure and BMI, input results into the computer system.

  • EKG: Perform EKGs and assist with other routine clinical tasks.

  • Lab Work: Read and understand lab work and results.

  • Medication Management: Send prescriptions to pharmacies (e.g., Walgreens, CVS).

  • Patient Interaction: Provide compassionate and culturally sensitive care in a non-judgmental manner.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.

Requirements:

  • Language Skills: Must speak Spanish fluently.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of EKGs, lab results interpretation, and basic triage tasks such as taking blood pressure and BMI measurements. Familiarity with sending medications to pharmacies is essential.

  • Experience: At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or completion of a Medical Assistant training course.

  • Certifications: CPR certification from the American Heart Association (BLS level), Two-step TB test, Hepatitis B statement or declination.

  • Additional Requirements: Background check, drug screening, and pre-employment physical may be required.
