Job Summary

ATC Healthcare is thrilled to welcome a compassionate and skilled Labor & Delivery RN to a unit in Silver City, NM. As a crucial member of our team, Labor & Delivery RN will ensure the safe, effective, and efficient care of our patients. The Labor & Delivery nurse will have experience in caring for women during the childbirth process, playing a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child.  We seek a strong communicator with a friendly and approachable personality, who is not only dedicated to providing exceptional care but also thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities

• Continually assessing and monitoring the mother's vital signs, fetal heart rate, and evaluating labor progress.
• Offering holistic support to the mother during labor, helping with pain management techniques, positioning, and relaxation exercises.
• Provide education about the birthing process, breastfeeding, and newborn care to ensure the mother is informed and prepared.
• Ensuring a safe and sterile environment for birthing.
• Administer prescribed medications such as pain relief or medications to induce or augment labor.
• In case of complications during labor or delivery, nurses are trained to recognize and respond to emergencies quickly.
• After delivery, L&D nurses provide care to both the mother and newborn.

Requirements

• Experience: 1-year experience required
• First-time Travelers: Yes
• Certifications/License: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHOHHN intermediate, Current New Mexico or Compact Licensure required
• Charting: Proficiency with Meditech, or comparable EMR documentation, preferred
• On-Call:

• Locals allowed: Requires that your permanent residence is more than 70 miles from location, zip code 88061
• RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission
