Location: Las Vegas, NV
Position: 13 Week Hospital-OR Assignment
Salary: $64 per hour, Paid Weekly

What You'll Do:

• Expert Prep: Ensure operating rooms and equipment are prepared for each procedure.
• Collaborative Care: Work with surgeons, nurses, and medical staff to ensure smooth surgeries.
• Precision Assistance: Handle preoperative tasks, assist with patient positioning, and manage surgical sites.
• Proactive Support: Anticipate surgeon needs, monitor equipment, and manage inventory.
• Safety Focused: Monitor patient vital signs, maintain infection control standards, and protect confidentiality.

What We’re Looking For:

• Certified & Experienced: High school diploma (or equivalent), completion of a surgical tech program, certification, and at least 2-3 years of cardiovascular (CV) experience, including open heart and vascular experience.
• Must Have Cardiac Experience: Candidates must have experience as a First Assistant (FA) in on-pump cardiac cases—vascular-only experience does not qualify.
• Vein Harvesting Skills: Candidates must be able to perform endoscopic vein harvesting.
• CVOR Expertise: Previous experience with complex CVOR procedures, including CABG, AVR, MVR, Aortic dissections, congenital pediatric cases, and other complex cardiovascular surgeries.
• Preferred Skills: Pediatric cardiac experience will be considered highly favorable.
• Best Personality Fit: Confident in skills and knowledge, strong communicator, and a positive attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically Fit: Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. comfortably.

Required Certifications:

• CST FA (Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant) or RN FA (Registered Nurse First Assistant)

• Floating Area(s): Main OR
• Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - Provided (Blue)
• Weekends and On-Call: Rotating call schedule; must be available as needed.
• Shift Details:
  • Shift: 4 x 10-hour shifts
  • Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM + Call
  • Duration: 13 Weeks

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Cardiac: CABG, AVR, MVR, Pericardial window, Aortic dissections, Congenital peds cases, etc.
• Vascular: Femoral-popliteal bypass, AAA, AV Fistula, etc.
