School Speech Therapist (SLP)

ATC Nassau County has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a School Speech Therapist for our client.

The School Speech Therapist is responsible for aiding students communicate within the school environment and on academically based tasks. The school SLP (Speech Language Pathologist) will work one-one-one with a student(s) in the school environment. In addition, the SLP in a school will accomplish the IEPs for the students in the caseload, as well as completing all required documentation for students receiving speech therapy at the school.

SHIFT: Day Shift M-F, Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem

Location: Schools

Shifts: 2 days a week

Range: $60-$69/hr.

School Speech Therapist responsibilities include:

• Working one-one-one with a student or facilitating group speech therapy in schools.
• Conducting assessments
• Making speech more understandable for students.
• Helping students reach performance standards.
• Collecting and analyzing information
• Writing individualized education plans (IEPs)

School Speech Therapist Qualifications/Skills:

• Must be a licensed NYS Speech Language Pathologist
• Must be a NYS Certified school SLP.
• 1 year of experience, preferred.
• Able to address language development and language disorders. 
• Identifying pragmatic and social language difficulties.
• Improving executive functioning deficits.
• Knowing about improving speech production.
• Able to understand literacy development.
• The ability to adapt, a great listener with great communication skills, and compassionate.
