STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Job Summary
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join a six-person Corporate Accounting Close team. The Staff Accountant will be a highly motivated self-starter who can effectively collaborate with others and operate successfully within a public company corporate accounting environment.
This role will perform accounting duties related to the general ledger, account reconciliations, monthly close review and analysis, journal entries, expense and balance sheet account analysis, and financial disclosure support.
This is a highly visible position that will work directly with members of the Accounting team and other key stakeholders. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for completing activities within established monthly and quarterly close timelines while ensuring compliance with applicable internal accounting controls and procedures.
This position offers a strong career development path toward a Senior Accountant role.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key contributor to the Corporate month-end close process, including account reconciliations, general ledger activities, and consolidation support.
- Contribute to the monthly and quarterly completion of judgmental accounting and reconciliation activities.
- Assist with internal financial reporting, including variance analysis.
- Work with external Big Four audit teams to support annual audits, quarterly reviews, and SOX testing activities.
- Support the maintenance and updating of Corporate accounting policies.
- Develop cross-functional knowledge of ERP systems to support training of accounting team members and enhance desktop procedures related to the monthly close process.
- Identify opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and potentially reduce costs.
- Provide accounting assistance to other departments on specific requests and initiatives related to the assigned area of responsibility.
- Assist with special projects, financial analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting records while meeting established reporting deadlines.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.
Experience
- At least 1 year of corporate accounting experience or similar accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply accounting principles effectively.
- Experience with monthly financial close processes and variance analysis preferred.
- Experience performing account reconciliations.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation
Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually
Actual compensation may vary based on factors including education, training, professional experience, qualifications, location, and business requirements.
The posted salary range may span multiple career levels. Final compensation and job level will be determined during the interview process based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and alignment with the responsibilities of the position.
