This position is responsible for generating sales from local and regional businesses, associations, and government agencies for the soon to be open, Arlo Washington DC.  The hotel is destined to be one of the most exciting new hotel openings in the nation. The role will report to the hotel General Manager while working closely with the Corporate VP of Commercial Strategy and Corporate Head of Business Travel to achieve the hotel’s overall sales goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

  • The role will be focused on selling to the local + regional businesses, associations, and government agencies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with travel managers responsible for hotel bookings in the DC market.
  • Demonstrate continuous self-leadership and activities to become a leader in the hotel and the DC market.
  • Capitalize on the hotel’s strengths and overcome any gaps to maximize sales.
  • Utilize creative thinking and propose ideas to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Proactively lead and generate new business opportunities via online and in-person meetings.
  • Work closely with the corporate sales and revenue team to garner greater than the hotel’s fair share of business travel.
  • Attend local and regional industry sales trade shows and events ensuring impactful meetings with key decision makers.
  • Host familiarization trips and events at the hotel.
  • Set annual revenue budgets, monthly forecasts, and other individual goals.
  • Utilize business intelligence and lead generation tools such as Ageny360, Demand360 and Zoominfo to monitor results and generate new business opportunities.
  • Monitor the performance of individual accounts and continuously seek ways to increase production.
  • Provide monthly production and activity reports.
  • Conduct agency and corporate presentations, meetings, site tours, and client events.
  • Ensure RFPs are submitted accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned and needed by the VP of Commercial Strategy.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University or college degree from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years Sales Manager Experience
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of various computer software, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and other hotel systems
  • Experience in Delphi Cloud or other sales CRM
  • Experience in Opera Cloud preferred
  • Experience in Agency 360 and other TravelClick/Amadeus products
  • Positive, enthusiastic approach
