Hourly Rate Range: 21.00-28.00

Position Summary: Apex Companies are seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder to join our team in Aurora, IL. This role is responsible for welding and fabricating components used in racking systems and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate has experience in welding within a production environment and is capable of reading blueprints and interpreting work orders to deliver precise, high-quality results.

To be clear this is not solely a welding position.  We find that the majority of the job functions tend to be with the fabrication and prep work before welding such as cutting and grinding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fabrication and welding tasks in a production environment, ensuring the highest level of quality.
• Fabricate components using appropriate welding techniques and equipment.
• Assemble and weld all types of racking and related material handling equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces as required for various projects.
• Inspect and test welds to ensure accuracy and strength.
• Maintain safety and compliance with all legal and company regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate production records.
• Support organizational goals by completing related tasks as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly work in environments with exposure to noise, heat, and industrial elements.
• Stand or walk for extended periods (up to a full 8-hour shift).
• Routinely lift or manipulate materials weighing 50+ lbs.
• Climb ladders and access materials stored in elevated areas.
• Utilize personal protective equipment including steel-toe boots, safety shields, and hard hats.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant welding/fabrication experience preferred
• Valid Driver's License with a clean record
• Knowledge of material handling equipment components and assembly techniques.
• Ability to operate welding tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical documents and drawings. 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations related to measurements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Up to 8 hours/day; overtime must be pre-approved by management
• Accurate daily timekeeping is required
