Caregiver Role for Future Healthcare Professionals

Are you a local nursing, pre-med, OT/PT, or healthcare student looking for hands-on patient-care experience?

At Always Best Care of Charleston, our caregivers work one-on-one with seniors, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home. This position offers flexible scheduling that can work around classes and clinical rotations, making it an excellent opportunity for students who plan to remain in the Charleston area throughout the school year.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a caregiver, you’ll provide support that helps seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home. Responsibilities may include: 

• Medication reminders
• Assistance with mobility and walking
• Personal care and hygiene support
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation
• Running errands or grocery shopping
• Providing companionship and conversation
• Observing and reporting changes in condition 

What We’re Looking For:

We provide training, but ideal candidates are:

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable 
• Interested in healthcare or human services 
• Strong communicators with good time-management skills
• Physically able to assist clients safely
• High school graduates (or GED equivalent)
• Dependable with reliable transportation (required)
• Comfortable around pets 

Perks + Pay:

• $16–$18/hour, paid weekly
