Abernathy Home Care is actively hiring reliable and compassionate caregivers in North Reading, MA for immediate short-shift openings.

We are seeking Home Health Aides (HHAs), Personal Care Assistants (PCAs), and Homemakers who are looking for flexible 2–4 hour shifts. These opportunities are ideal for caregivers who want to build hours or supplement their current schedule.

Immediate placements are available for morning, afternoon, and early evening visits.

Current Short Shift Needs – North Reading and surrounding towns 

• Morning personal care visits

• Afternoon companion shifts

• Early evening support

• Weekday and weekend opportunities

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required

• Reliable personal vehicle required

• Current TB test (or willingness to obtain)

• Authorized to work in the United States

• Must pass CORI, SORI, and OIG background screening

For HHA or PCA Applicants:

• Must provide current HHA or PCA certification

For Homemaker Applicants:

• Prior homemaking, companion, or related experience preferred

Responsibilities May Include

• Personal care assistance (HHA/PCA roles)

• Companionship and supervision

• Light housekeeping

• Meal preparation

• Safety monitoring

• Errands and transportation as needed
